She was Blackwell • Bolden a former associate artist with the Opera Columbus Company, Columbus Light Opera, and the Columbus Ensemble Singers. Additionally, she was the recipient of a travel scholarship from Ohio State University School of Music for study abroad in Graz, Austria, with the American Institute of Music Studies. She is on the music faculty of South Carolina State University, Orangeburg, and an assistant professor on the music faculty of Savannah State University in Georgia.

In 1993, he left the Pirates to sign with the San Francisco Giants.
