This quantity provides contemporary advancements within the thought of defects and the mechanics of fabric forces. lots of the contributions have been offered on the overseas Symposium on illness and fabric Forces (ISDMM2007), held in Aussois, France, March 25-29, 2007. The mechanics of fabric forces, originated within the works of Eshelby, supply a rational framework for the outline of riding forces on evolving inhomogeneities and structural alterations in continua.
This booklet comprises invited lectures and chosen contributions provided on the Enzo Levi and XIX Annual assembly of the Fluid Dynamic department of the Mexican actual Society in 2013. it's geared toward fourth 12 months undergraduate and graduate scholars, and scientists within the fields of physics, engineering and chemistry who're drawn to fluid dynamics from an experimental and theoretical standpoint.

First investigations of the electromagnetic control of electrolyte flows date back to the 1950’s. Already in 1954, Crausse and Cachon gave experimental evidence of successful separation postponement as well as separation provocation on a half cylinder. Similar experiments were performed later by Lielausis . After a few investigations on laminar flow control [8,9] and related topics [10,11], activities in that field declined with the beginning 1970’s. A renewed interest in electromagnetic flow control arose in the 1990’s.
